Blasphemy TCG - Finally A card game for the unindoctrinated!
What is Blasphemy TCG?
Blasphemy TCG was designed to support individuals recovering from the impact of high-control religions, drawing from the creator’s own experiences. Leaving such a religion often leaves people socially isolated, grappling with a sense of disconnection. This card game aims to bridge that gap by highlighting the surprising similarities among various high-control groups, revealing a shared struggle that connects players to others who’ve faced the same challenges. Through gameplay, it fosters understanding, camaraderie, and healing for those on the path to recovery. Blasphemy TCG is the first of its kind as a Religious Satire TCG full of surprise twists, scandals, fun facts, satire, wit and humor. Not like your typical game that talks about religion. 😉
Base Set Information
Like Magic the Gathering’s first release, our first edition base set comes in pre constructed decks of 50 base cards. Each deck includes 3 cards from each religious series and 5 cards from the all-powerful Science series. Religious Series’ include Amish, Buddhism, Catholicism, Daoism, Hinduism, Islam, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Judaism, Mennonites, Mormons, Satanism, Scientology, Sikhism, Shinto, Zoroastrianism, and the Science series. Each box also comes with a limited edition card.
Collectability
To help with the collectability of our TCG, within every First Edition Base Set there is a pre-sleeved limited-edition card. Our first 2 printed are the Catholicism Holy Foreskin card & the powerful Child Sex Abuse card that affects all religious series’. Both are numbered /250.
Designing of Blasphemy TCG
We spent hundreds of hours constructing Blasphemy TCG, from the countless months spent researching various religions and making witty, humorous descriptions and ironic effects, to the Oil painting themed artwork constructed with the help of online programs. We spent months discussing on reddit community pages about what strategy card game players want to see in a new TCG for gameplay, rules, game function etc. We have taken into consideration rules from various card games, created a few new ones of our own & a few came from people like you. We are open to rule and game play suggestions from the Blasphemy TCG community as well as we grow, so instead of having a set in stone paper copy of the rules and how to play, we included a QR code on the back of every box that takes you to our website’s How to Play page. We were sure to include many special effects and scandal cards that can affect a whole religious series, or your opponents’ hand. We also tested game play with many card players of various backgrounds and believe anyone can have fun playing this TCG.
The Future of Blasphemy TCG
Initially we created over 300 unique cards in our base set across all 16 series but only had the money to start out with printing a base set with only a hand full of cards from each religious series. In the future we will have expansion decks for specific religious series in many purchasing options including booster packs. We have already started expanding the world of Blasphemy to include more of the thousands of current and extinct religions.
We also have a team developing an app version of our card game to be released within the next year. Within the app you will be able to trade your digital cards & battle Blasphemously with others around the world.
